If an Open class team is allowed to play up a age class in order to compete in a “C” level tournament they WILL NOT have on their roster or play a player the same age group as they are playing up into.  For example, a 10U Open team allowed to play up into the 12U C WILL NOT be able to use a 12U player in that “C” tournament.  The 10U Open team must use all 10U players or younger.

PLAYER PROTESTS ARE $75 (CASH) PER PLAYER.

8U RULES

Each half inning will end when the defense records three (3) outs or the offense scores seven (7) runs, whichever comes first.

The player-pitcher shall keep one or both feet inside the eight foot circle.

TWIN PLAYER RULE

Beginning with the 2015 season season, we will no longer be using a DH in the line-up.

Instead we will be using TWIN PLAYERS.

TWIN PLAYERS:

Any 2 players may be designated as TWIN PLAYERS and are locked to that ONE spot in the batting order.

The TWIN PLAYERS are interchangeable.

Regardless of who batted or ran the bases last the next time either TWIN may bat or run.

The switching of TWINS (run for TWIN who hit safely for example) on offense or defense is not a substitution.  Please notify the umpires when interchanging TWIN PLAYERS.

If the Pitcher or Catcher is a TWIN and reaches base, you can either put in the other TWIN to run or use a courtesy runner.  If the other TWIN is used to run, she may not have a courtesy runner run for her.

Any 9 players in the line-up can play defense at any time.

The TWIN PLAYERS can play defense at the same time.

There is no requirement that a TWIN PLAYER play offense or defense at any time during the game.

If a TWIN PLAYER gets hurt, you can either enter a substitute or just play with the other TWIN remaining in the spot in the batting order.

If you start a game with 8 or 9 players you cannot use the TWIN PLAYERS.

All other rules regarding substitution and eligibility apply.

Examples of TWIN PLAYER use:

Offense only player and a defense only player

2 players with different offensive skills

2 players who excel at defense can be the TWIN PLAYERS and share the same spot in the batting order.
